Participation in the "Salon Index 2014"
The CRP-Gabriel Lippmann participated in the "Salon Index 2014" event organized by the paperJam Business Club with a presentation of its activities in the domain of information visualisation. A particular emphasis was placed on the demonstration of Calluna other visualisation solutions developed by the CRP-Gabriel Lippmann.
Participation in the "ICT Spring Europe 2013" business fair
3500 participants from 62 countries met in Luxembourg to discover the most recent trends in IT on occasion of the "ICT Spring Europe 2013" business fair. The CRP-Gabriel Lippmann promoted Calluna and its other visualisation solutions on its stand and during a specific conference.
New major version of Calluna available
The most recent version 3 of Calluna is now available for partners of the ISC department. Among other enhancements, this new release focuses on interfacing with data sources as well as improvements to overall performance. The new version also serves as a test and experimentation platform for the different internal research projects led by the department in the domain of information visualisation.
Participation in NordiCHI 2012 in Copenhagen
Some members of the team have written a paper discussing the issue of trust in interactive graphics. They illustrate their argumentation with innovations included in Calluna software. The paper has been presented at the workshop "Improving Trust in Interactive Systems" of the NordiCHI 2012 conference organized in Copenhagen. NordiCHI is the main Nordic forum for human-computer interaction research.
Participation in the VASS 2012 Summer School in London
The Calluna team always aims for improvement. Therefore, two members of the Calluna team (Maël Cornil and Mickaël Stefas) travelled to London in September to participate in the VASS 2012 (UKVAC International Visual Analytics Summer School). Their attendance has strengthened the team's expertise in Information Visualization and Visual Analytics. In addition, they had the opportunity to meet some actors of the field at an international level.
The Challenges of Combining Research and Business in Visualization
Benoît Otjacques, leader of the Calluna team, has been invited to give a talk at "Big Data Mining and Visualization" Days held mid-June 2012 at Polytech Tours (France). He has chosen to relate his experience with Calluna in his presentation entitled: "The Challenges of Combining Research and Business in Visualization".
Presenting an innovative component of Calluna at the conference EUROVIS 2012 in Vienna
A scientific article describing the component "Multidimensional Concentric Slider" of the Calluna software was accepted to be presented at the scientific conference Eurovis 2011 in Vienna (Austria). This scientific event is the reference conference in the domain of information visualisation in Europe. This points out the original nature of certain functionalities of Calluna once again.
Calluna wins a prize at the IHM 2011 conference
The research article "Représentation visuelle interactive de l'importance subjective de critères de sélection de données" (Benoît Otjacques, Maël Cornil, Mickaël Stefas, Fernand Feltz) obtained the prize for the best short article at the conference la 23ème Conférence Francophone sur l'Interaction Homme-Machine, which took place from October 24th to October 27th 2011 at Sophia Antipolis (Nice, France). This article describes one of many innovative components of the Calluna software. It is available online at the ACM Digital Library (the article is accessible here).
